“Better railroad capacity through the mountains: good for the economy, good for the environment, good for people.”

Our nation’s highways are stretched to their limits: congestion is worsening, highway costs are rising, air quality is declining, and freight volumes are increasing.

At WaysSouth, we believe that rail transportation is key to building a stronger economy, reducing highway congestion, improving air quality, using tax dollars more efficiently, and improving quality of life. Public policies promoting increased rail infrastructure investment would lead to the use of rail for both passenger and freight purposes. We support balanced rail regulation that addresses both shipper and passenger concerns and allows railroads to thrive.

In January 2010, the WaysSouth Board of Directors adopted a Resolution in Support of Increased Rail Capacity.
